General conditions of sale
Surf lessons in Biarritz

Article 1: Registration and booking of surf lessons

A registration form must be completed by the person concerned, their parents, or their legal guardian. We will contact you within the day.

A deposit of 30% of the total amount of the chosen package must be paid upon reservation.

Article 2: Cancellation of surf lessons

In the event of poor weather conditions (lack of waves, excessively rough seas, thunderstorms, storms, red flags, pollution, etc.), courses that cannot be carried out will, in agreement with the participants, be postponed to a later date.

In case of cancellation less than 24 hours in advance, the deposit is due.

Article 3: Responsibility of the structure

Participants are under the responsibility of the instructor from the agreed start time of the session and not before. They remain under the instructor's responsibility until their post-session wetsuit is put away. The organization's civil liability for its participants ceases outside of these hours, within the time limits described above.

Parents or guardians of participants must ensure that the planned service takes place.

We decline all responsibility for loss or theft of personal items.

Article 4: Teaching

Theoretical and practical courses are provided by instructors holding State or Professional Certificates.

Article 5: Insurance

All persons attending a surfing lesson are covered by our Civil Liability, Personal Accident, Assistance and Recourse guarantees, the terms of which are described in the insurance contract made available to parents or legal guardians.

Trainees (or their legal representatives) may refuse individual Accident and Assistance coverage. However, we draw the member's attention to the benefit of subscribing to a personal insurance policy with the insurer of their choice, covering bodily injury to which they may be exposed through their sporting activities, and whose coverage would be superior to that of our policy.

We only offer these guarantees during teaching hours. For those who regularly practice free surfing, we strongly recommend purchasing a license from a club recognized by the French Surfing Federation (FFS).

Article 6: Commitment of the structure

As part of the chosen package, we undertake to provide the necessary equipment (wetsuits and boards) to participants during lesson hours.

Article 7: Student Engagement

By registering for a course, minor trainees and their parents

accept the risks associated with practicing Surfing under normal practice conditions.

Minors must have authorization from their parents or guardian to practice the “Surfing” activity.

Adult participants and the legal representatives of their minor children attest to the participant's ability to dive and swim at least 25 meters for those under 16, and to dive and swim at least 50 meters from the age of 16. They attest that they have no contraindications to surfing.

For all, certify having read the T&Cs (General Sales Contract) and the safety instructions and rules of surfing practice.

Article 8: Image rights

We reserve the right to publish photos taken by a photographer during surf lessons: on the Mad Wax surf school website and on the school's Instagram. In case of disagreement, please let us know.
